The Marquette Golden Eagles entered the game with a 3-0 record averaging 95 points a game and NCAA leading 23 assists per game.  Early on in this game, Marquette’s offense was rolling while the defense held Ole Miss without a field goal for 5 + minutes.  By halftime this game was already decided.   Marquette ended the game with a 30 point win, 96-66.

  • With the win, Marquette joins Norfolk State in the Paradise Jam final.  Marquette beat Norfolk state last week by 31 in Milwaukee.
  • Jae Crowder (25 points) was on display in the first half.  He was limited in the 2nd half due to injuries (not serious it seemed)
  • DJO was the second leading scorer ( 20 pts ) while doing a lot of his work from the line (8/10). Good to see him hitting FTs.
  • Vander Blue had another solid night, playing good defense (4 steals) and breaking double digits points again (11 points)
  • Davante Gardner also poured in 15 points in 14 minutes.  Most points were from the foul stripe, going 9-9 at the charity stripe.
  • Quiet night from Jamil Wilson, Derrick Wilson.  Neither had a lot of playing time, but neither of them did anything to earn more PT.
  • Fox Sports covering the game from the Virgin Islands.  TV coverage was dropped and experiencing technically difficulties most of the 2nd half.
